People who doesn’t play videogames often criticize gaming for being an unproductive use of time or damaging people’s mental health, but what if gaming actually benefits your mental health?

While many studies have covered the negative aspects of gaming, only a few has analyzed the beneficial aspects of it. There are many reasons why people play video games. Some do it to get a break from the real world, other people do it to connect with their friends and some do it to achieve glory at the highest level.

Gaming as a leisure activity can be motivated by intinsic or extrinsic motivators. Playing video games can be good for your mental health, a study from Oxford University has suggested, following a breakthrough collaboration in which academics at a university worked with actual gameplay data for the first time.
