You will often talk about several challenges and topics in the consultation. Therefore it can be difficult to remember everything that you want to remember. In addition to this, it is also very normal to feel tired and exhausted after a session and when going to therapy on a regular basis. It is because of all the difficult feelings and experiences that come up and that we process in the session.

One way to remember the important parts from your consultation is to write it down right after the session ends.

So after your video-consultation with your Psychologist you can spend 5 minutes to write down your key takeaways from the session. You can do this on a physical notepad, on your phone or on your computer.

To prompt what is important you can ask yourself: What are my key takeaways from today’s session?

It can be a sentence, a reflection or a new insight that deeply affected you and that you don’t want to forget.

When we write things down, it helps us to remember what we have learned and what we would like to apply in our lives. In this way, you can look back on your notes days or weeks later and for instance recall what you were supposed to do in a challenging situation. On a long-term basis you can also use your notes to look back on how you felt when you first started your process, and how far you have come since then. It can be very motivating to see your own progress.

We believe that nobody should be alone in the midst of a tough time in their lives. Therefore we encourage you to speak up if you’re going through a difficult time in your life at the moment. We all do at some point in our lives.

Remember that you can find many resources on our website, and learn much more about mental health.

It can be difficult to remember everything that you talk about in the consultation with your Psychologist.
